Shiny Toy Guns are finally back, reunited and making even better music than before. Voted as one of the Top 10 albums of the year by the AP’s music writers, III, features stronger writing and more in-depth storytelling than before. Their production values are still amazing and the sound is pure STG all the way. This may be the only band that blends rock and electronica in such a seamless fashion. Among the standouts are The Sun, the first single off the LP, Waiting Alone, If I Lost You, the campier, disco-er Fading Listening and the song below, their latest single, Somewhere To Hide.
Here is The Sun, from the concert I attended last year.

Now here’s a band that’s been around for a few years but has mostly flown under the radar for me. The Shiny Toy Guns have a very impressive and unique sound and my recent discovery of their music has left wanting more already. The mix of Chad and Sisely’s vocals is very unique and hearkens back to a very electronic 80′s sound. There’s a word I use to define certain bands and that word is “dynamic” and the sounds and vocals that the Shiny Toy Guns produce is nothing short of dynamic. One just can’t help liking every song they put out. Great job Shiny Toy Guns and keep up the good work. Among their standout songs you have: Ghost Town, Ricochet, It Became A Lie On You, Le Disko, Frozen Oceans and the song you can hear below: I Owe You A Love Song. Give them a try, you won’t regret it.
