Just picked up the DVD of Adele’s concert at the Royal Albert Hall. This brought back a ton of memories from when I went to see her in Hollywood earlier in the year. A lot of the same stories are in here, a lot of the same nuisances and Adele manages to still be entertaining as can be while being funny, frank, fragile and of course amazing. Check it out if you can or buy it if you’re a fan, you won’t be disappointed. Here’s the trailer for the DVD:

The Afters/Sanctus Real/Casting Crowns Concert
Casting Crowns was a great show, although I have to admit I was there mainly for the opening acts, The Afters and Sanctus Real. They had nice sets but it’s one of those things where I’m going to have to see these two bands as headliners, not as openers. Very enjoyable concert, very uplifting, awesome time. Here’s some Sanctus Real and The Afters.

Ladytron Concert!
Ladytron concert was awesome! I kind of had zero idea what to expect from such an electronic band such as this and I was definitely, pleasantly surprised. They have a style that’s all their own and for the most part they had the entire crowd dancing to the electronic, syncopated beats of their songs. Their music library contains a very clear set of hits for those who are fans and they played pretty much all of them, for close to 90 minutes. One of the coolest, albeit strangest things is that this band likes to be backlit instead of being frontlit so they spent most of the show in much darkness. All cool I suppose, just added to the ambiance. Very enjoyable show! Plus I also got a couple of free autographed posters from them!

Destroy Everything You Touch – LIVE
Adele at the Hollywood Palladium

Talk about a fortuitous turn of events. A few months back I came across a video for the first single off of Adele’s latest album, 21 and I was completely hooked by it. Rolling In The Deep began the tide that would become 21 but it wouldn’t be until a couple of months after this first single came out that it would all be out there for everyone to see. I was able to get my hands on 21 a month before the USA release, since it came out in the UK first. All the songs began to resonate and all of a sudden I found out that Adele was going to be doing a short US tour in support of the new album. I scooped up a couple of tickets at $35.00 each the minute they went on sale. Suddenly 21 began its steamroll and next thing you knew Adele was everywhere and #1 at that. Tickets sold out for everything after that but not before I had my precious $35 tickets in hand! After a postponement here in L.A., the concert finally happened last night. Here’s my take on what happened:

Live & In Concert!
Seeing as how I have 3 scheduled concerts in the near future: Adele, The Afters/Sanctus Real and Ladytron, I’m going to go ahead and put up a list of the artists I’ve seen in concert in the past. It’s always awesome to see an artist live and I’m typically taken with the power that a live performance carries. I’ve found some of my favorite artists after seeing them open up for bigger acts actually. Artists that I’ve never heard of before have captivated me and I have typically ended up buying their music and obviously gotten it autographed right on the spot whenever possible. I remember seeing a band called Disciple open up for Stryper years ago and I became a fan that instant and haven’t stopped since. There are also a few artists that I want to catch, that I’ve yet to see live, among them: Interpol, Placebo, Mozella, The Toxic Airborne Event, Flyleaf, UNDEROATH and also those that I’ve seen once and want to see again badly like: Skillet and Shiny toy Guns. The day is soon coming for all these, for now here’s the list……just for posterity!
Aterciopelados, The Beach Boys, Berlin, Billy Joel, The Black Crowes, Candlebox, Carlos Vives, The Cranberries, David Crowder Band, Demon Hunter, Disciple, Dixie Chicks, Dramarama, Duran Duran, Elton John, Garbage, The Go-Gos, Head, Heart, Jaci Velasquez, Jars of Clay, Jeremy Camp, Journey, Juanes, Kutless, Live, Living Sacrifice, The Myriad, Newsboys, No Doubt, Oasis, P.O.D., Pink Floyd, Queens of the Stone Age, Red, The Rolling Stones, Seal, Shakira, Shania Twain, Sheryl Crow, Shiny Toy Guns, Simple Minds, Skillet, Stryper, Tenth Avenue North, Tesla, Third Day, U2, VOTA, Weezer, Yann Tiersen.
Actually here’s a little Disciple to get you through your day!
