There are a handful of films out there that give a good insight into the plight of migrants and into the struggles associated with such. Sin Nombre, Bajo La Misma Luna, are just a couple of more recent ones that show you the sadness but also the hope associated with either living here in the United States illegally or trying to get here illegally. A Better Life is one such film that takes you through that heartbreak path to give you some sort of inspiration and insight into the little bit of hope that some of these migrants must depend on to survive from one day to the next. Demián Bichir, in an Oscar nominated role plays the part of Carlos, a gardener, working day after day to somehow try to achieve a semblance of an American dream while trying to keep his son Luis out of the trouble that is found in the streets of L.A. Although the film fails in some of the liberties taken and in the way some scenarios play out, it doesn’t fail in telling a heartbreaking and heartwarming story. If you get the chance, you should give it a try, this is one fascinating city we live in. Oh, and I was a bit surprised to find the name of one Jami Gertz associated with this as a producer, who knew?! 4 out of 5 stars.

Hairdo
So I’ve been thinking of changing my hairdo for a couple of weeks now. If you’ve known me for the last 2-3 years you probably know or have seen me only with spiked up, semi-fauxhawk type of hair. Well, the time has come to leave that behind, until needed lol, and get a new hairdo. Here’s what I’ve kind of come up with, actually combing my hair! Imagine that! I still have zero idea what the hairstylist is going to do, all I know is that it’s kind of long right now and it’s only going to get longer. Hopefully it looks fine and hopefully I can comb it after it’s been shortened.
Twitter & Facebook
So I finally went ahead and cancelled my Twitter and Facebook accounts. Even though they were fun on certain days, they actually ended up being more trouble than otherwise and I finally realized that they add very little to my life. In actuality they detract from my life in way too numerous ways and I keep trying to subtract those things and people who don’t add anything to me, so it was social networking’s turn. Oddly enough you can still find me on Google+, at least that’s filled with some interesting info instead of people whining and complaining and seeking attention that they wouldn’t otherwise get in society. So find me there or obviously here, and if you need to contact me you should already know how, otherwise I’m sure you can find a way.
