Have you ever needed to or wanted to use a certain logo on your site or in your design but were just never able to find a decent version of one? Whether it’s Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Apple, a police department, an airline, a bank, a media outlet, regardless of what it is and even where it’s from, you have to give Brands of the World a try and find that elusive logo in the always popular and always useful EPS vector format. You name the country and the company and they probably have the logo you need, and even if they don’t, if you’re able to contribute then go ahead and upload one. Either way, whether it’s web design, desktop publishing, graphic design, if a brand name is needed, Brands of the World has it. Enjoy!
Icons and Iconography
by Carlos on Mar.18, 2009, under Web Design
Here’s another tidbit of graphical wisdom. When it comes to icons, the line that defines whether to use icons on website design or only use them as desktop clutter is a bit obfuscated. Icons, in the right designer hands, tend to add a lot of flair to website or graphic design. They’re typically a pain to create from scratch though, so it’s always a welcome commodity to be able to find and download those icons we crave and need to complement our designs. Iconfinder is an icon search engine that typically brings back Photoshop ready icons. One couldn’t ask for more when seeking that which just won’t do when found under a Google search. Try out iconfinder.net below and design away!
Free Stock Photography
by Carlos on Mar.11, 2009, under Web Design
In the world of web and graphic design it’s always a bit of a quandary where to find stock photography. Not everyone has the financial means to join a stock photography site and pay their monthly or yearly fees and unfortunately many designers fall prey or get stuck using something like Google images. The problem with using any image found in Google images is that one has no idea who holds the actual rights to any image. The last thing any designer wants to encounter is running into problems, especially legal ones, due to image rights. Well there is one very cool site that we can all use, the Stock Exchange (stock.xchng). The stock exchange only requires a simple registration to use and after that you have access to full size stock photography, typically provided by other users. Join in and share and reap the benefits of the stock.xchng.
